The season-ending Omega Dubai Ladies Classic is the flagship tournament on the Ladies European Tour and has been showcasing the world’s leading players since 2006.
The $500,000 event is staged at Emirates Golf Club’s renowned Majlis course – the first grass course in the region, dubbed the “Desert Miracle” when it opened in 1988, and home of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. The Karl Litten design, set against the backdrop of an iconic Bedouin tent inspired clubhouse and the city’s glittering skyline, has been the stage for numerous famous victories over the years.
The inaugural tournament – the first full Ladies European Tour event to be played in the Middle East – was won by all-time great Annika Sorenstam, a double champion, while the roll of honour also includes four-time winner Shanshan Feng, Pornanong Phatlum, Alexis Thompson, Iben Tinning, In Kyung Kim and Anja Monke.
