In Oman, The UAE Dominates The GCC Golf Championships


At Ghala Golf Club in Muscat, Oman, the UAE Golf Team won gold medals in all three Team Divisions of the GCC Golf Championships.

Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were all represented.

The Ladies’ GCC is in its sixth year, and the 16 & Under and 13 & Under Divisions are in their seventh.

The UAE Ladies National Team won the Ladies’ Division Gold Medal, led by Intissar Rich, Alia Alemadi, and Aasiya Saleem.

Intissar won the Ladies’ Individual championship with a 54-hole score of 212, four under par, a stunning final round of 67, nines of 32 and 35, and seven birdies. Alia Al Emadi (UAE) finished third, with Aasiya Saleem (UAE) finishing fourth.

Rashid Al Naqbi, Abdul-lah Kalbat, and Mohammad Thabet won the team gold medal for the Junior Boys 16 & Under team.

Jordan’s Salem Alabkal won the Individual award with a score of 16 over. Rashid Al Naqbi of the UAE finished second, Mohammed Thabet of the UAE finished fourth, and Abdula Kalbat of the UAE finished fifth.

The UAE team won the 36-hole 13 & Under Division with Abdulla Darwish and Abdulla Salmeen, with Darwish collecting the individual gold medal with rounds of 79 and 80.

“Congratulations to all the UAE golfers and teams for their outstanding performances in the GCC Golf Championships in Oman,” said General Abdullah Alhashmi, Emirates Golf Federation Vice-Chairman. “Over the past 18 months, the EGF has diligently worked to provide UAE players with the platform to exhibit their talents. These dedicated individuals have undergone rigorous training, and it is rewarding to see this progress and positive results.”
