Developer Sweid & Sweid said its first Middle East Banyan Tree Residences – Hillside Dubai is on track to open in September 2019 as construction on the 1 ha project reaches the roof level and the structure tops out.

Made up of a mix of 235 one, two, three, and four bed units, Banyan Tree Residences – Hillside Dubai is located where Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Montgomerie Golf Course, Emirates Golf Course, and Emirates Hills intersect on Al Telal Street.

According to a statement, work has also begun on adjacent landscaped gardens and amenities, a move the developer said gives “early purchases a glimpse of their upcoming lifestyle and provide the 1,000 plants and trees the opportunity to mature prior to full completion”.

Ground was first broken on the $163 million (AED600 million) resort-style residential project in May 2016, and is the first in the Banyan Tree Residences collection to be built in the Middle East.

Speaking on the news, Maher Sweid, managing partner of the Dubai-based real estate firm, said: “There is growing demand for quality housing and lifestyle in premier locations in Dubai, and what sets this project apart is the exclusive offering of design and finishes coupled with the expansive amenities managed by Banyan Tree.”

The development comes after Sweid & Sweid appointed Core Savills in January 2018 as the lead sales agent for the development, which will also include cantilevered swimming pools, private outdoor gardens, and residents-only clubhouse and spa.

Abu-Dhabi based contractor Civilco Civil Engineering & Contracting Company was awarded a $68 million (AED250 million) contract in for the development in December last year.
