Travels and tours outfit, Ufit Fly, a reputable travel and tour brand in Nigeria, has redeemed the pledge of all expense paid trip of Dubai, Kenya and Oman to the winners during the recently held Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) Lady’s Open. The pledge was part of the firm’s N2 million sponsorship of the golf tournament.
While presenting the visa and tickets to one of the beneficiaries, Omolaraeni Olaosebikan in Ibadan during the week, the team leader of Ufit Fly, Ajibola Ogunkeyede thanked IGC for giving his firm opportunity to be part of the great rich tradition of Ibadan Golf Club.
“I really appreciate the whole entity called golfers and IGC Lady’s section for giving us opportunity to be part of the sponsors.
“I will like to say a big kudos to them and for also packaging a good golf tournament, it is our pleasure to support the Lady section that seems to be lagging behind in terms of sponsorship over the times,” said Ogunkeyede.
He added that the sponsorship was done also in memory of his late mother, Mrs. Funmilola Ogunkeyede, who died a few weeks to the tournament and to show support to all women around the world because
“They are the pride of the world,” he said, adding, “we intend to partner with IGC to sponsor a grassroots golf programme where new female golfers can be discovered from secondary schools.”
The recipient of the package, Omolaraeni Olaosebikan, who is also the CEO of Pixels Digital Photography, in her remarks thanked Ufit Fly for the opportunity the package provides her to play golf and explore other golf courses outside Nigeria.
“What Ufit Fly has done is synonymous to golf, because golf is a game of exposure… you must be able to travel wide to be able to know that you can play better golf.
“You can’t just stay in your own club and feel like a champion. It is so significant that Ufit Fly is coming from that aspect of tourism.
“When talking about professionalism in golf, you must explore this tourism aspect, you must be able to leave your club and explore clubs around, particularly outside Nigeria, so Ufit Fly’s coming in to support that tournament was a very significant gesture.
“I must say to you that it was wholesome, this package worth almost N600,000 and it was just given to me courtesy of golf, so it’s a huge support for that tournament,” Olaosebikan noted.
